There is
Use: for one thing / one person

Use: for two or more things / people

Prepositions of Place
Use: to show where something is
The sofa is next to the table. · The cat is under the chair. · The lamp is on the table. · The picture is above the sofa.
Simple rules for A1/A2
Use There is with singular nouns. Use There are with plural nouns.
Use prepositions to describe position: in, on, under, next to, behind, in front of, between, above, near, far from.
