- An argument is a reason that supports your opinion.
- A counter-argument is an opposing idea that you acknowledge and respond to, in order to strengthen your position.
Argument : "Remote work increases productivity because employees have fewer interruptions."
Counter-argument : "Some argue that remote work reduces teamwork, but regular video calls can solve this problem."
Counter-argument : "Some argue that remote work reduces teamwork, but regular video calls can solve this problem."
Structures utiles :
- On the other hand, ... — d'un autre côté, ...
- Some people argue that..., however... — certains pensent que..., cependant...
- While it's true that..., we must also consider... — bien qu'il soit vrai que..., il faut aussi considérer...
- A counter-argument to this is... — un contre-argument à cela est...
- I understand your point, but...
- That's a fair point, however...

- Let me offer another perspective.
- I respect your opinion, but I see it differently.
- Let's agree to disagree on this point.
- I'd like to explain why I think differently.
Exemple : "I respect your opinion, but I see it differently: I believe the benefits of remote work outweigh the challenges."

💡 Astuce : Un bon débat n'est pas une bataille, c'est un échange d'idées. Reconnaître un contre-argument ne veut pas dire perdre le débat, cela montre que tu écoutes et que tu réfléchis vraiment.
