A Week to Remember
Last week was hectic from start to finish. On Monday, my manager told me, to be honest, our biggest client was thinking about cancelling the contract. My colleague Fatou tried to break the ice by cracking a joke, but nobody really felt like laughing. As far as I know, the client had been unhappy for months, and it was only a matter of time before things came to a head.
By Tuesday, we decided to bite the bullet and call an emergency meeting. Long story short, after hours of negotiation, we finally reached an agreement. On the other hand, this meant burning the midnight oil for the rest of the week to meet the new deadline.
By Wednesday, everyone felt under the weather from exhaustion, but no worries — we pushed through. It slipped my mind to mention that our intern, Kouassi, saved the day by spotting a mistake nobody else noticed. Honestly, it goes without saying that teamwork made all the difference.
By Friday afternoon, we decided to call it a day early. Once in a blue moon, a stressful week actually ends well, and this was definitely one of those times. In the same boat as my colleagues, I couldn't agree more that we deserved a good rest.
