Aya's Weekly Routine and a Special Day

Aya works as a nurse in a hospital in Abidjan. Every day, she wakes up at 5:30, and she usually arrives at work by 7 o'clock. She takes care of patients, checks their temperature, and gives them their medicine on time. She always says that her job requires patience and a calm mind.

Last month, however, something different happened. One evening, after a long shift, Aya received an emergency call: a young boy had had a serious accident near her neighbourhood. She rushed to the scene before the ambulance arrived. She stayed calm, checked his injuries, and reassured his frightened mother until professional help came.

The next day, the boy's family visited the hospital to thank Aya personally. They brought a small gift and told everyone how grateful they were. Aya felt proud, but she also said that she was simply doing what any nurse would do.

Today, Aya continues her normal routine, but she often thinks about that evening. She says it reminded her why she chose this profession in the first place — to help people when they need it most.
