📘 Introduction
In English, nouns are divided into two main categories: countable nouns and uncountable nouns. This distinction affects the articles, determiners, and verb forms we use. Understanding this is essential for talking about food, ingredients, and shopping — very common everyday situations.
📗 Definitions
Countable Nouns — Things you can count individually. They have a singular and a plural form.
✔ one apple → two apples · ✔ a banana → three bananas · ✔ an egg → six eggs · ✔ a bottle → four bottles
Uncountable Nouns — Things you cannot count directly. They have no plural form and no article a/an.
✔ water (not a water) · ✔ milk (not two milks) · ✔ bread (not three breads) · ✔ rice (not a rice)

💡 Key Tips to Remember
Si tu peux dire "one, two, three…" avant → Countable. Si tu ne peux pas le compter directement → Uncountable, utilise un contenant (a glass of, a bag of…). Much avec les non comptables, many avec les comptables. A little avec les non comptables, a few avec les comptables. Some dans les affirmations, any dans les questions et négations. A lot of fonctionne avec les deux !
