Practice for Everyone: The « Daily Life » Challenge
1. Your Daily Mission Think about your role at home or at work. What are you in charge of on a typical day, and what is one specific task you are handling right now? (Example: I am in charge of the household, and I am handling the grocery shopping today.)
2. Personal vs. Social Rules Identify one thing you must do because it is a personal goal, and one thing you have to do because it is a rule in your city or office. (Example: I must exercise more. I have to stop at red lights.)
3. House Rules Imagine you are making the rules for your home. What is one action that is strictly prohibited, and what is one thing that is mandatory for everyone who lives there? (Example: Smoking is prohibited. Washing your own dishes is mandatory.)
4. Weekend Freedom Is your schedule for this coming Sunday mandatory or optional? Use the word « can » to describe one fun thing you are able to do. (Example: My Sunday is optional. I can go to the park with my family.)
5. The Big Picture Think about your main goal for this year. Using the expression « The bottom line, » explain the most important thing you need to do to succeed. (Example: The bottom line is that I need to practice my English every single day.)
