Aujourd'hui, on apprend à décrire sa maison en anglais : les pièces, les meubles et les objets du quotidien. C'est un vocabulaire indispensable pour l'oral du BEPC/BAC (description d'image, présentation personnelle) et pour la vie de tous les jours. Coach Assoa t'explique tout, étape par étape.

Pour dire ce qui se trouve dans une pièce, on utilise "There is" (singulier) et "There are" (pluriel).

⚠️ Piège n°1 : THERE IS vs THERE ARE
On accorde toujours avec le nom qui suit : There is a bed (singulier) mais There are two beds (pluriel).

On utilise "an" devant un mot qui commence par un son voyelle → an armchair, an oven.

Konan's House in Bouaké
Konan lives with his family in a small house in Bouaké. There are four rooms in the house: a living room, two bedrooms, and a kitchen. In the living room, there is a comfortable sofa, an old television, and a wooden coffee table. Konan's mother loves flowers, so there are always fresh flowers on the table.
The kitchen is small but practical. There is a fridge, a gas cooker, and a cupboard full of plates and pots. Every morning, Konan's mother prepares attiéké in the kitchen before going to the market.
Konan shares a bedroom with his younger brother. There are two beds, a wardrobe, and a small mirror on the wall. Outside, there is a beautiful garden where Konan's father grows mango trees and vegetables. The family also has a small yard where the children play football after school.
