1. What Are Prepositions of Time & Place?
Prepositions are small but powerful words that show the relationship between nouns and time or place. The three most important are AT, IN and ON — but English has many others that are equally essential.
Key question for TIME : When does it happen? Key question for PLACE : Where is it / does it happen?

Think of AT, IN, ON as a pyramid going from the most specific (small / precise) to the most general (large / broad).

11. Common Mistakes to Avoid
I will see you on 8 o'clock.✔ I will see you at 8 o'clock.
→ Use AT for exact clock times, never ON or IN.
She was born in Monday.✔ She was born on Monday. / She was born in 1998.
→ Use ON for days, IN for years and months.
I'll meet you on the restaurant.✔ I'll meet you at the restaurant.
→ AT = a specific meeting point/location. ON = a surface. IN = inside an enclosed space.
I studied during two hours.✔ I studied for two hours.
→ FOR + duration. DURING + named period (during the lesson / during the exam).
I haven't seen her since three years.✔ I haven't seen her for three years.
→ FOR + duration (three years). SINCE + specific point in time (since 2021).
