Elena is a digital artist who has lived in Berlin for eight years. She moved there a long time ago, in 2018, right after she finished her studies in Rome. At first, life was difficult because she didn't speak German, but she has been taking intensive classes since her first month in the city. Now, she is almost fluent.

Three years ago, Elena decided to quit her job at an advertising agency to become a full-time freelancer. She has owned her own small studio since 2021. Since she became her own boss, she has worked on many international projects. She has been collaborating with a famous Japanese brand for six months now, and they are very happy with her illustrations.

However, being an artist is hard work. Elena hasn't taken a real holiday since last summer. She worked for twelve hours every day last week to finish a big project. Despite the fatigue, she doesn't regret her choice. She realized a long time ago that freedom was more important than a big salary.
