Kader's Story

Kader has been a taxi driver in Abidjan for fifteen years. He started driving taxis in 2010, right after he left the army. Since he began this job, he has met thousands of passengers from all over the country. Two years ago, he bought his own car instead of renting one, which increased his income significantly. He usually works from six in the morning until eight at night, six days a week. During the rainy season, business slows down because fewer people go out. Kader hasn't taken a real day off since last December, but he plans to rest for a full week by the end of this year. He says that after fifteen years on the road, he still enjoys meeting new people every single day.
