These words and phrases help you express imaginary desires and dreams — the heart of Second Conditional conversations.
to dream of + -ing — to imagine something you would like to happen (rêver de)
"If I had the chance, I would dream of opening my own school."
to wish — to want something that is not real or possible now (souhaiter / regretter de ne pas avoir)
"I wish I had more free time to study English."
an opportunity — a chance to do something valuable (une opportunité)
"If I got the opportunity, I would study abroad."
to imagine — to form a picture in your mind of something unreal (imaginer)
"Imagine you won a scholarship — what would you do?"
a fortune — a very large amount of money (une fortune)
"If she made a fortune, she would help her whole family."
an ideal world — a perfect, imaginary situation (un monde idéal)
"In an ideal world, everyone would have access to education."
