Questions de compréhension

Révision 1

Present Perfect Continuous

have/has been + V-ing

FormeExemple
AffirmativeI have been studying English for 5 years.
NégativeShe hasn't been feeling well lately.
InterrogativeHave you been waiting long?

Usage

Her eyes are red — she has been crying.
We have been working on this project since January.
Mots signaux : for, since, how long, lately, recently, all day/week
Ex : "I have written 3 emails" (résultat) vs "I have been writing emails all morning" (durée).
Révision 2

Past Perfect

had + participe passé (V3)

FormeExemple
AffirmativeShe had finished the report before the meeting.
NégativeThey hadn't arrived when we called.
InterrogativeHad you ever visited Japan before that trip?

Usage

By the time I arrived, the train had already left.
He realized he had forgotten his keys.
Mots signaux : before, after, by the time, already, just, never... before, when

Past Perfect Continuous

had been + V-ing

FormeExemple
AffirmativeI had been waiting for an hour when she finally arrived.
NégativeHe hadn't been sleeping well before the exam.
InterrogativeHad they been arguing before you got there?

Usage

She was tired because she had been running for two hours.
They had been living in Paris for a decade before they moved.
Mots signaux : for, since, before, how long, all + period (all day, all week)

Future Continuous

will be + V-ing

FormeExemple
AffirmativeThis time tomorrow, I will be flying to New York.
NégativeShe won't be working next Friday.
InterrogativeWill you be attending the conference?

Usage

At 8pm, we will be having dinner with the clients.
Don't call after 9 — I'll be sleeping.
Mots signaux : at this time tomorrow, this time next week, while, when (+ moment précis)
Piège fréquent : Ne pas confondre avec "will" simple (décision/prédiction) : "I will call you" (décision) vs "I will be calling clients all afternoon" (action en cours).
Révision 5

Future Perfect

will have + participe passé (V3)

FormeExemple
AffirmativeBy 2030, she will have finished her PhD.
NégativeThey won't have completed the project by June.
InterrogativeWill you have graduated by next summer?

Usage

By the time you arrive, I will have cooked dinner.
In ten years, they will have paid off their mortgage.
Mots signaux : by, by the time, by then, in + période (in two years)
Piège fréquent : On utilise "by" (au plus tard à) et non "until"/"to". Ex : "I will have finished by Friday" et non "until Friday".

Partie finale — QCM récapitulatif (tous les temps)
