Short adjectives (1–2 syllables) : adjective + -ER + than
big → bigger than | tall → taller than | fast → faster than
old → older than | cheap → cheaper than

Long adjectives (3+ syllables) : more + adjective + than

This phone is more expensive than mine.

⚠️ Spelling rules :
• One vowel + one consonant → double the consonant : big → bigger | hot → hotter
• Ending in -y → change y to i : happy → happier | easy → easier

Use superlatives to compare one thing with all others in a group. Always use THE.

Use equality structures to say two things are the same or not the same.
Positive equality : as + adjective/adverb + as
→ means the two things are equal.
Negative equality : not as + adjective/adverb + as
→ means one is less than the other.

Aminata is as good as Kouamé in English.

This hotel is not as expensive as the one near the airport.

Ma nouvelle voiture n'est pas aussi rapide que je l'espérais.
as much as → used with uncountable nouns or verbs
as many as → used with countable nouns
as many as → used with countable nouns
I don't earn as much as my colleague. (money — uncountable)
Je ne gagne pas autant que mon collègue.
She has as many as five brothers. (brothers — countable)
Elle a jusqu'à cinq frères.
I practise English as much as I can every day.
