💡 Daily Idiom — Cut to the chase
Sens en français : aller droit au but, en venir aux faits.
✔️ Let's cut to the chase and discuss the budget.
✔️ She cut to the chase and told him the real reason.
🔤 Daily Phrasal Verb — Iron out
Sens en français : résoudre des difficultés ou désaccords mineurs.
✔️ We ironed out the details before signing the contract.
✔️ They managed to iron out their differences.

What is a Collocation?
A collocation est une combinaison naturelle de deux mots ou plus que les anglophones utilisent habituellement ensemble. Certains mots « vont naturellement ensemble ». Même si une autre combinaison est grammaticalement correcte, elle peut sonner peu naturelle à l'oreille d'un natif.

✅ heavy rain❌ strong rain
✅ fast food❌ quick food
✅ take a break❌ make a break
💡 Les natifs apprennent ces combinaisons naturellement, à force d'écouter et de lire. Apprendre les collocations t'aide à : sonner plus naturel · enrichir ton vocabulaire · parler plus couramment · mieux comprendre les natifs.

Why are Collocations Important? Compare les phrases suivantes :
Natural English : She made a decision quickly.
Unnatural English : She did a decision quickly. ❌ Native speakers never say this.
Natural English : We took a break after lunch.
Unnatural English : We made a break after lunch. ❌ Incorrect collocation.
Natural English : He paid attention during the lesson.
Unnatural English : He gave attention during the lesson. ❌ Incorrect.
