Leçon 27 : Animals, Weather and Seasons

Les animaux • La météo • Les saisons

1. Animals — Les animaux

3. Seasons — Les saisons
Exemple : "In Côte d'Ivoire, we have the rainy season and the dry season (Harmattan)."

Konan: What's the weather like today?

Adjoua: It's cloudy and a little windy. I think it will rain soon.

Konan: I love the rainy season. The animals on the farm seem happier too!

Adjoua: Me too! Look, there's a goat and some chickens near the gate.

Astuce : Pour la météo, on utilise toujours "It is" : "It is hot", "It is cold", jamais "I am hot" pour parler du temps qu'il fait dehors !

Reading Comprehension

A Day on the Farm

Last weekend, Kouamé visited his grandfather's farm near Bouaké. The weather was sunny in the morning, but by the afternoon, the sky became cloudy and windy. His grandfather said it would probably rain because it was the rainy season.

On the farm, Kouamé saw many animals: a cow eating grass, two goats playing near the fence, and chickens running around the yard. There was also a dog that followed him everywhere and a cat sleeping under a tree.

When the rain started, all the animals ran to find shelter. Kouamé and his grandfather went inside the house and watched the rain fall. "I love the rainy season," said Kouamé. "Everything looks fresh and green afterward." His grandfather smiled and agreed, adding that the dry season, called Harmattan, brings dust and cooler mornings instead.
